INTERACTIVE STORY HURRICANE Microwave tracking provided a dead recognizing of the hurricane heading toward Northwest Florida. Sweat begin to show on Carol's face as she viewed the relay from Orlando Weather Center. Microwave targets on the screen indicated extreme RF radiation surrounding the Panhandle. News broadcasts on the AM and FM channels, as well as NORAD indicated severe Hurricane Watch, 400 miles an hour at the vortex, tornados sneaking around the eye, and Global Warming and El Nino cooperating to spew forth Mother Nature's nightmare. "No, this will be a Hurricane Level Five, only the islands in remote regions were hit by Level Five, " stammered Carol as sweat began to pour down her face, her anxiety, palpatations, and fear combining to result in extreme paranoia. "Relax, Carol, this is too extreme a weather vortex, it will burn itself into a minor series of storms, " I reassured Carol. "Never, the bitch Helena marshaled low pressure warm air, winds, and moisture from the South combining with cold North, dry air, and extreme high pressure air, normally correlated with Tornados, from El Nino. " People were rushing out of the Panhandle to the West past Pensacola, and East toward Tallahasie. Autos strewn beside the highway provided visible evidence of the effect of Helena. Reports indicated towns were struck by winds of 200-300 miles/hour, with the vortex of 400 mph. As we headed toward Gainesville, I hoped we would survive. |
